There are ways to hit a perfect pitch shot when the ball lies a sealed way You don’t have to change anything about your position most of the time. You just have to play the ball the way it lies. So first you need your “check test.”
Before any pitch shot, you want to do a check test. this means you want to examine where your ball lies. There are 3 ways your ball will most likely lie The first scenario is if the ball is sittting in an upward position. This means it’s above or standing on the grass. The second way is if the ball is sitting in a thin rough. And 3rd way is if the ball sitting in a deep rough. If you follow these 3 steps, you will hit a perfect pitch shot. Lets take a look at these 3 situations.
When the ball is sitting up-This is where the ball is sitting above the grassWhen pitching from the fairway, you want to keep your stance the same, and position the ball in the center of your feet. At this point, the spot of your ball is in position and your swing will bottom out. You will be able to hit your pitch shots better without any interference.
When the ball is sitting moderately down in the rough- This is when the ball is not all the way deep in the grass and not even half way deep, but about 3/4′s deep. In this case, you will position the ball to the center of your back foot. You want your shaft to lean towards your target, so you want to set your hands in front of your zipper. You want a good solid hit on the ball, not the turf.
When the ball is in a deep rough- This means half or just about all of your ball is in deep grass. In this case, you will place the ball to front center of your stance (front foot). Play the ball where your swing bottoms out, and keep your hands in front of your zipper. As you do this, your shaft will lean away from your target. The loft of your club is doing the most work, and gives you a large clubface.
