Golf Conditioning: Phase Two of Season Power Training

Today I will talk about phase 2, phase power. At this stage, we try to make large gains in strength and power to really increase your driving distance. We will focus on ground forces exercise at this stage, but Mobility should not neglect the training and flexibility.

A good warm up is essential in this phase and must never cease to be. Ideally, you want to spend at least four to six weeks of work in this phase but eight weeks would be great. You want to focus on large muscle groups as the chest, back, hips and core. Stay away from machines as much as possible and try to do more weight and body weight exercises that also incorporate small stabilizing muscles also. Exercise whole body three days a week. Lets look at some examples of exercises in Phase 2.

Warm-up, warming It may stay during the first phase. You want to get a sweat going to really warm up your muscles and joints to reduce the risk of injury. Go ahead and launched in the sides, inch worm, bear crawl forward and backward, walking knee to chest, walking, raising the right leg, and Carioca are excellent warm-up exercises.

After the warm-up exercises like replacement or exercises stabilizing base or mobility. The day to perform basic exercises like the bird dog, ironing board matters in hand, cracks and chops diagonally from top to bottom. Follow these hip and thoracic mobility exercises including mobilization of the foam roller. Other days, perform the basic exercises to completion. Training the core while fatigued is important for developing good spine stability. I like to do mobility exercises, after the warm-up. You will work hip mobility very well during the warm-up, but be sure to do the hip rotation exercises because it is an element key to reduce the risk of injury low back. It is also a good time to exercise foam roller to work and soft tissue mobilization thoracic spine.

After completing these exercises that are ready to hit the power exercises. Focus on large muscle groups and if time is a factor make a circuit. Always work the big three "in the chest, hips and back. A good starting point would be a chest like the chest, lying or coated dumbbell. Follow with a leg exercise like squats, lunges, UPS phase, squats or division. Then incorporate a back exercise that LAT, vertical or horizontal pull-ups or bent over rows. An example would be good results: 15 push-ups followed by 15 squats 10 Pull-ups then. Rest 1-2 minutes and repeat. Perform 3-4 times. Vary the representatives according to their performance and quality. You can vary the exercises each time and you want to replace, but they are always at least one on each back, chest and legs move. Most of the power in your swing comes from your hips back and chest muscles, but you need a basis for the transfer of power. Failure to work the back muscles can lead to imbalances that can cause injuries, especially in the shoulders.

After the three major is a good time to add more explosive exercises like medicine Ball criticism over his head, and pulls rotation diagonally. Finish your workout flexibility with work including stretches that focus on the lats, hamstrings, hips, chest, and. Hold each stretch for 30 seconds and repeat 2-3 times. In the next article will discuss the third phase, the phase of preparation season.
